GentlemenRufus Calder/ adam Rothenburg Age: 39
Rufus is one of the many tiers of men who work under Lord Malfoy. Unlike the upperclass, Rufus isn't afraid to get down and dirty for what his boss needs done. He's seen the inside of jail cells more times than he can count on his hands (though he hardly stays there for more than a few hours before he is bailed out). He oftens works with another of Malfoy's men, Harvey Thornton, but taking most of the load of whatever task. He may not be the most intelligent, in fact some think he is fairly brainless, but he is skilled with a handgun, picking locks and can win most brawls. He does a lot of the repairs for his wife's brothel himself as well. He is sometimes aloof, seen as a uniquely dressed man as his clothes are crafted by the scraps or extra fabric used to make his wife's clothes to save money for her business. He tries to be romantic towards his wife, who is much more serious than he is. He doesn't mind not going to the fancy events his wife gets invited to as he doesn't want to embarrass her with his bad reputation or poor manners. Harvey Thornton / Jerome Flynn Age: 49
What could be considered the brain to Rufus's brawn, Harvey typically can be found working beside Rufus in any manner of task Malfoy sets forth. His childhood had not been easy. Growing up with hardly a coin to his family's name in the gutter with his siblings, young Harvey had found work in the industrial factories or other terrible odd jobs as a young child. It was a tough life of poverty, empty stomachs and illness. It often led to difficult positions, where he learned how to fight for his life, mental map the streets and sewers. He worked hard for many years to achieve the middle class status he holds now, making sure to dress well. His other siblings over the years had died or moved far away, but he doesn't keep in touch with any of them. Attachment is weakness, he had learned the difficult way. He often bails rufus out of situations, but isn't afraid to square up when the time comes. He has been in the game longer than Malfoy has even been in Serpens, a veteran of a shady lifestyle. but Harvey is too low to be considered membership. He doesn't quite mind it, knowing there is a hell beyond what he experiences. He is often serious. JEAN-MARIE BANKS/ JJ Feild. Age: 23
Rev. Banks is one of Virginia's brothers. He wasn't interested in being a high-society gentleman or lawyer so instead left home to pursue becoming a curate; for the most part he's been in parishes in the country – and was once situated in Ashford – but he's found himself called to the city, with a nice residence on the other side of the park from Upperton. While some clergymen and be harsh and extremely devout, Jean is more open minded and gentlenatured. He's very caring toward everyone and is always there to lend an ear. Working in the church by Upperton, and living so close means he gets to see many people for Sunday mass and can come quickly to see people in their homes. FRANCIS STRATFORD/Iain Glen Age: 52
Francis is a rather powerful man. He knows things. His wealth is hard worked for and he makes your business his business. He likes to buy, sell, wager, blackmail, corrupt. If you're truly in the know you would be aware as not to trust this man, but mostly those do not know what he can do. He's ruined many a persons life, and after targeting the lower classes for so long he want to branch futher out into the higher classes. Getting on in life he knows he won't be around all that long so might even try and find himself a nice young woman to marry. Will he catch the eye of President Alvah? Father Judas/ Colin O'Donoghue age: 25
Behind every kind, sincere smile there is always a bit of mischief. After all, Judas, despite being a priest, is human. As a child Judas's parents died of addiction to morphine, causing him to find his way to the Holy doorstep of a church where he was taken in and raised by the priest there. Despite living under strict regulations, his way of life as a child didn't make him cold or ward off the Catholic religion. Instead, the strict restrictions trained him to hide everything. Often he took interest in Catholic rituals but never really believed them, finding them irrational and impractical. Only because of interest did he become a priest, a position he could comfortably live in. Emotional abuse was commonly taken from the priest who raised him. It was only when the man died that Judas was able to leave and take over the position of his forefather. Judas, being driven by worldly desires frequently engages in sinful acts such as intercourse and lying. He doesn't even believe in a God up above that is to give them eternal life. His robes are pure, but his body is muddied with the scars of sin. He has recently come to help aid in those of Upperton Edge who have swayed from their good and true paths for their indulgence in the sin of Victorian London England. As a Catholic Priest will Judas be able to help those be befriends during his stay? Or will he succumb to further darkness? |

But do not let her petite from fool you, she is as skilled with a handgun as any man. Her husband also works directly under Malfoy for whatever services he may require. Mabel is not aware of the Serpens organization Malfoy is connected to, but is aware that there is a greater, darker force beyond her patron and the clients he sends her way. She always makes sure those particular clients are well taken care of. Her business is very lowkey, classy and Mabel can be seen at times invited to some of the low end of upperclass social events, sometimes as a guest at an opera or charity always without her husband. While she does love her husband, her dedication is to her work, and Mabel thinks that getting a divorce will be the only way to keep her name floating as high as she can afford. She will typically go by her maiden name when in public. She is known for wearing bold colors in her fashion choices and her business is recognizable by the lock-shaped sign. Is there a chance at life for her among the highest class some day or will her sinful line of business keep her anchored in place? |
